Per il primo anno, la nostra Scuola ha ospitato dal mese di ottobre 2013 un’assistente Comenius. Si tratta di Yasemin Turan, neo-laureata in

Lingua Inglese e proveniente dalla Turchia, che è rimasta con noi fino al mese di giugno 2014.

La nostra assistente ha svolto  attività didattiche affiancando le insegnanti di lingua inglese dei nostri quattro Plessi. Nel primo quadrimestre Yasemin ha potuto conoscere e proporre le sue attività agli alunni delle Scuole Primarie “Rodari” e “Villaggio I Maggio”, nel secondo quadrimestre ha lavorato nelle scuole “Gaiofana” e “Casti”.L’obiettivo dell’assistentato è stato  duplice: permettere agli alunni di acquisire e migliorare le competenze di lingua inglese e contestualmente accrescere il loro interesse per il Paese di provenienza dell’assistente, sviluppando così in essi la consapevolezza culturale e l’apertura al confronto e al dialogo; e consentire all’assistente di conoscere la cultura italiana, migliorando nel contempo le proprie competenze didattiche.

Vorremmo dare a Yasemin, durante il suo soggiorno, l’opportunità di conoscere meglio i nostri dintorni. Ringraziamo pertanto docenti e  famiglie che l’hanno coinvolta in escursioni, gite e piccoli viaggi.

Siamo certi di aver costruito insieme a lei un percorso  che ci ha permesso di accrescere il reciproco patrimonio di conoscenze, abbattendo i confini delle ”differenze” culturali.

Here I am, your Comenius assistant, Yasemin. I’m a teacher of English from Turkey: As my dear colleagues and students labeled me: “A very young teacher” or as I labeled myself “A student teacher” J

Comenius assistantship is a program supported by European Commission. It enables young teacher candidates to have experience abroad, and host schools to have an intercultural dimension at their schools. To get more information about the program, you can check this website.

I’m very glad to be here, in Rimini. It is a great opportunity for me to see differences in Turkish and Italian education systems, observe various practices in teaching and put into practice my academic knowledge. I especially wanted to become an assistant in Italy because I would like to learn Italian, to know more about Italian culture and to visit beautiful cities and towns of Italy. I like many things like dancing, biking, learning, teaching… But travelling is my biggest personal passion. In Italy, I have been in these cities so far: Milan, Verona, Florence, Perugia, Rome and, of course, Rimini, wishing for visiting more, hopefully all J

I am also feeling like a cultural ambassador of Turkey here, when I prepare some lessons including cultural elements from my country, I realize how much I have missed it. What I miss the most are my family and friends, especially my nephew; Turkish food, especially “çay” (Turkish tea) and “zeytinyağlı sarma” of my mother; and İstanbul!

İstanbul is the city where I studied and lived for the past 5 years of my life, the city of my life. Even though Akhisar is my hometown which is a quite pretty town on Western Turkey, I feel at home when I’m in İstanbul. It is the only city in the world which is on two continents.
